Sunon Office Furniture Solution | Crinetics Pharmaceuticals

In the Fall of 2023, Sunon and our dealer partner were awarded a large project for a new 95,000+ square foot office and lab space in San Diego for a growing pharmaceutical company.

 

This project was very complex because the client’s procurement needs were considerable:

  • The space had to allow for a rapidly increasing headcount (100+) in 2024.
  • The space had to be easily reconfigured as hiring increased and business needs evolved.
  • One manufacturing partner with an expansive furniture portfolio was needed.
  • A modern, collaborative office design with a focus on ergonomics was required.
  • Technology integration was essential for all touchdown spaces.
  • The space had to be designed for energy efficiency.
  • A completion date of 12 weeks (which was ultimately reduced to 9 weeks) was required.

 

Sunon was uniquely qualified to support and satisfy the client with all the above.  After the bidding phase the client visited the Sunon HQ, this visit proved instrumental in winning the project and building trust.  As stated by our Dealer Partner, David Wolf, co-owner of Verkpleys after visiting the Sunon Showroom in Irvine: “In the end, they chose Sunon for the aesthetics, quality, comfort, ergonomics and especially the value!”

 

The Sunon team was very involved in the design phase as work began. During the initial site survey Sunon’s designer and the client uncovered a unique challenge; the stairwell near the front entrance was exposed and presented a safety concern for employees and visitors. The Sunon design team came up with an innovative solution. They designed a custom-made Flower sofa. The client was thrilled with the unique outcome which not only provided additional seating for visitors but also addressed the health and safety concerns by blocking access to the space under the staircase.

 

The total project included 45 enclave offices, 27 private offices, 46 cubicles, 7 conference rooms, a training room that divides into three spaces, 15 collaborative spaces, 20+ meeting rooms, a gym, outdoor amenities and even a communal pub for socializing!

 

95% of the furniture utilized for this project was provided by Sunon encompassing a total square footage of 95,000 square feet of space over two floors. The new HQ was 10X the size of the original space. The client has subsequently obtained LEED Silver Certification.

 

Our client continues to experience business success and growth and is in the process of opening an even larger HQ in 2026. Sunon has again been awarded this project because of our ability to deliver a successfully large project that satisfied our client and their employees.
